Sharing a small MCP setup and first-task recipe for Copilot CLI users who have an Omarchy spare. ibara gives an agent access to that computer’s browser and desktop apps while its owner keeps working on their own computer. The software is free and open source.
Requirements: Omarchy on the supported computers, connected through your Tailscale network, with ibara installed and the spare paired. The install guide covers that setup.
After installing ibara, add its local MCP entry:
If an
ibaraentry already exists, use it.copilot mcp listandcopilot mcp get ibarainspect the saved configuration. In a running Copilot session,/mcp show ibarashows the server’s status and tools. The agent guide also covers the connection prompt, skill and instructions steps. Then replace
spare-miniwith your paired computer’s name and try:The practice page needs no site login. Check that the report separates passes from failures, includes a screenshot of the open menu, and finishes the task with its windows closed and control released. The first-task guide then shows how to adapt the check to an app you own.
Verification so far: an isolated check with Copilot CLI 1.0.103 verified adding, reading and removing the configuration entry. Those management commands do not establish a live MCP connection. No Copilot-driven desktop task has been tested in this walkthrough; this is a recipe to try, not a successful Copilot task report.
If you already have this setup and choose to try it, the first unclear or failing step and your Copilot CLI version would be useful feedback. Please keep private account data out of public replies.
