What?
Add a deprecation warning to the top of the README.
Why?
This sample Node app has been superseded by the new Next.js starter app https://github.com/bigcommerce-edu/starter-sc-app-next.
All references to this repo have been removed from the DevDocs, and users wanting to use a Next.js-based sample app should use the GH linked above.
