🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔴 Critical | ⚡ Quick win
Remove the exclusion markers from the documentation comment.
The #if DEBUG and #define dbprint text is inside an existing block comment. The added /* GCOVR_EXCL_START */ marker creates a nested comment. The stop marker then closes the surrounding comment. The compiler parses the example text as source code, which causes the unmatched #endif and prevents all builds from completing.
Remove both markers. If the real dbprint definition needs exclusion, annotate that definition outside the documentation comment.
Proposed fix
#if DEBUG
- /* GCOVR_EXCL_START */
#define dbprint printf
- /* GCOVR_EXCL_STOP */
#elseAlso applies to: 20392-20392

Remove the GCOVR_EXCL_START and GCOVR_EXCL_STOP markers surrounding the #if
DEBUG and dbprint example in the documentation comment so the example remains
comment text.

Source: Pipeline failures
A lot of the code coverage issues reported are in helper debug functions; including these makes our numbers look a fair bit worse for code that's realistically not part of the production build.
While this is a mechanical change, this is also a fairly invasive change, so I want to get feedback on it before proceeding with a merge.
