Updates github.com/labstack/echo/v5 from 5.4.0 to 5.4.2

Release notes

Sourced from github.com/labstack/echo/v5's releases.

v5.4.2

Fixes

  • Require a space after the case-insensitive Basic authentication scheme. Malformed schemes such as BasicX no longer reach credential validation or consume AllowedCheckLimit. Valid credentials are still required. #3138, thanks to @Shubham-Padkonde.
  • Reject empty cookie tokens and empty client tokens in CSRF validation. This is defense in depth; it does not introduce a new security advisory. #3135, thanks to @hoangtaiki.

Upgrade

go get github.com/labstack/echo/[email protected]

Go 1.25 remains the module minimum. Build deployments with a supported, patched Go toolchain. No dependencies or public APIs changed in this release.

The security fixes released in v5.4.1 are included unchanged. Their first patched version remains v5.4.1.

Validation: the fixes passed regression tests and upstream race-test and lint checks on Linux, macOS and Windows with Go 1.25, 1.26 and 1.27. The new regressions were also verified to fail without the fixes.

v5.4.1

Security fixes

Upgrade with go get github.com/labstack/echo/[email protected].

  • Validate the sending peer before accepting X-Real-IP in ExtractIPFromRealIPHeader, preventing client IP spoofing when that extractor is configured. GHSA-h53f-rm2w-w7rg
  • Validate upstream WebSocket upgrade responses through Go's HTTP reverse proxy. Rejected upgrades no longer leave a raw tunnel that bypasses Echo routing and route middleware. GHSA-cxf3-9h37-7rr8
  • Close both WebSocket connections when either side disconnects, including when an upstream ignores client EOF. GHSA-9969-6676-49h5
  • Preserve the complete request body beyond the BodyDump capture limit and propagate read errors, including BodyLimit overflows. GHSA-x9ff-22gv-65f4, #3105
  • Restore the original response writer before returning BodyDump buffers to the pool, preventing writes into a reused buffer during error handling. #3174
  • Accept decompressed bodies exactly at the configured limit; keep overflow errors sticky. #3136
  • Include the BodyLimit overflow-check correction and static-path hardening already merged since v5.4.0.

Behavior to review when upgrading

The proxy removes incoming Forwarded headers as defensive hardening. Backends relying on that header should use forwarding headers generated from the configured trusted IP extractor and scheme. WebSocket requests now honor the configured proxy transport, response modifier, target path and query in the same way as HTTP requests; ws and wss targets remain supported.

BodyDump capture limits bound logging only: handlers receive the full request, and clients receive the full response. Applications must still consume request bodies and handle read errors to enforce streaming body limits.

Go 1.25 remains the module minimum. Build deployments with a supported, patched Go toolchain.

Other changes

This release also includes ValidateCtx, router fixes for escaped colons, custom methods and parameter storage, binding support for OpenAPI date formats, and documentation updates.

Thanks to @rm-Umar, @Duodum, @irisitymichaelgrundberg, @Hama1cco, @jakezwang, @Shubham-Padkonde and @rajpreetcodes for reports and contributions, and to the contributors credited in the individual commits.

Validation: upstream lint checks and race tests passed on Linux, macOS and Windows with Go 1.25, 1.26 and 1.27. Local tests on patched toolchains, vet, staticcheck and govulncheck also passed; govulncheck reported no reachable vulnerabilities.

v3.4.0 23 Oct 2026

  • [jwe] jwe.Decrypt now tries each key provider in turn and moves on to the next one when a provider returns an error, as jws.Verify does. For example, jwe.WithKeySet with a set that has no usable key, followed by a working jwe.WithKey, decrypts with the working key. If no key works, the returned error wraps the last failure, so errors. Is can find it. (#2385)

  • [jwe] JSON serialization of a JWE now always includes the ciphertext member, jwe.Parse now accepts an empty ciphertext, and jwe.Decrypt now returns an empty payload for it. A JWE that encrypts an empty plaintext with AES-GCM therefore round-trips through jwe.Encrypt(..., jwe.WithJSON()), jwe.Parse, json.Marshal, and jwe.Decrypt. A missing, null, or non-string ciphertext is still rejected, and the iv and tag members must still be non-empty. (#2387)

  • [jwe] jwe.Decrypt now rejects a message whose tag or iv is not exactly the length the content encryption algorithm uses. Bytes can no longer be moved between ciphertext and tag to produce a different message that still decrypts. (#2387)

  • [jwe] JSON serialization of a JWE now writes the shared unprotected header as a JSON object, as RFC 7516 requires. A JWE with a shared unprotected header therefore round-trips through jwe.Parse, json.Marshal, jwe.Parse, and jwe.Decrypt. (#2389)

  • [jwt] jwt.WithNumericDateFormatPrecision now applies when a token is serialized. It covers the exp, iat, and nbf claims of jwt.Token, and those claims plus updated_at in openid.Token. Previously the option never had any effect on serialized tokens, which always wrote these claims as whole seconds.

With a precision above 0, a date that has a fraction is written as a JSON number with up to that many fractional digits. Extra digits are rounded down, toward the earlier time, and trailing zeros are removed. At precision 3, an iat of 2000000000.123456789 is written as 2000000000.123, and 2000000000.1 as 2000000000.1. A date with no fraction is written as an integer, and output at the default precision of 0 is unchanged. Callers who set a precision above 0 will see fractional dates in their tokens, in the bytes jwt.Sign signs, and in what jwt.Equal compares. (#2410)

  • [jwt] NumericDate claims such as exp, iat, and nbf now parse negative values, which are dates before 1970, with or without jwt.WithNumericDateParsePedantic(true). The sign covers the fraction too, so -1.5 is one and a half seconds before the epoch. Fractional digits beyond jwt.WithNumericDateParsePrecision are rounded down, toward the earlier time, the same way serialization rounds: at the default precision of 0, -1.5 parses as -2. Positive values parse as before.

Updates github.com/prometheus/client_golang from 1.24.1 to 1.25.0

Release notes

Sourced from github.com/prometheus/client_golang's releases.

v1.25.0

⚠️ This release raises the minimum required Go version to 1.26 and includes breaking API changes in api/prometheus/v1 (see the [CHANGE] entries below). ⚠️

1.25.0 / 2026-10-07

  • [CHANGE] Minimum required Go version is now 1.26, only the two latest Go versions (1.26 and 1.27) are supported from now on. #2138
  • [CHANGE] api/prometheus/v1: Query, QueryRange, Series, LabelNames, and LabelValues now return Infos annotations in addition to Warnings, matching the Prometheus server's info annotations. This changes the signatures of these methods and of api.Client's Do/DoGetFallback; custom API client implementations must be updated. #1963
  • [CHANGE] api/prometheus/v1: Rework TSDBBlocks result types to align with the Prometheus server's tsdb.BlockMeta: TSDBBlocksResult now contains Blocks []TSDBBlockMeta directly instead of mirroring the full API envelope, nested types are renamed (TSDBBlockMeta, TSDBBlockStats, TSDBBlockMetaCompaction), stat fields are uint64 with omitempty tags, and the optional compaction parents field is included. #1928
  • [FEATURE] testutil: Add GatherAndFormat to encode a subset of metrics from a Gatherer. #2091
  • [FEATURE] promhttp: Add HandlerOpts.AcceptedFormats to customize the formats negotiated from the incoming Accept header, enabling opt-in to experimental formats such as OpenMetrics 2.0 without changing default negotiation. #2146
  • [ENHANCEMENT] promhttp: Negotiated metrics responses now include a Vary header. #2142
  • [ENHANCEMENT] prometheus: Regenerate the default runtime collector metrics for Go 1.25 and Go 1.26. #2090, #2095
  • [ENHANCEMENT] testutil: Finalize OpenMetrics output in GatherAndFormat and CollectAndFormat (terminating # EOF). #2125
  • [BUGFIX] api: Match complete URL path placeholders only; a :foo argument no longer substitutes inside :foobar. #2136
  • [BUGFIX] exp/api/remote: Reset the pooled buffer before generic proto marshaling, preventing corrupted remote-write payloads. #2139
  • [BUGFIX] testutil/promlint: Fix "mibi" unit prefix to "mebi". #2135
