The multi-arch workflow failed in run 39996644389 (job 120561777499). redhat-actions/buildah-build runs buildah inspect --format {{.OCIv1.architecture}}, which the runner's buildah rejects. No local php:latest manifest was left behind. buildah manifest rm then failed with "image not known", and podman manifest push failed on localhost/php:latest.

The change is in .github/workflows/multiarch-build.yaml, and I haven't run the workflow, so it is untested.

  • Build
    • Replaces the buildah-build action with a run step that creates the php:latest manifest and builds linux/amd64 and linux/arm64 into it with --manifest.
    • buildah manifest rm runs first with errors ignored, so a missing manifest no longer fails the step.
    • After the builds, the step fails unless the manifest contains exactly two images.
  • Push
    • Replaces redhat-actions/push-to-registry with podman manifest push --all, so the manifest list and both arch images are pushed.
    • Still runs only on master, and the target (quay.io/wavesoftware/php:latest) and the QUAY_USER/QUAY_PASSWORD secrets are unchanged.
    • Checks podman manifest exists first. If the manifest is missing, the step prints the local images and fails.
buildah manifest rm  "$IMAGE:$TAG" 2>/dev/null || true
buildah manifest create "$IMAGE:$TAG"
buildah build --platform linux/$arch --manifest "$IMAGE:$TAG" -f Containerfile .
podman manifest exists "localhost/$IMAGE:$TAG" || { podman images; exit 1; }
podman manifest push --all "localhost/$IMAGE:$TAG" "docker://quay.io/wavesoftware/$IMAGE:$TAG"
